Welcome:

....to the web site of the Masonic Art Exchange.

This project started as a group on Facebook and has seemed to take on a life of it's own, we have now just published our sixth newsletter and even now we have already received great response to it's contents, and are well on our way to the next issue due out in July and will be a bumper summer issue the following issue will then be in September if you have any events happening over the summer send information on them now to subs@masonic-ae.com

We are constantly developing the site to make it a greater resource, to enable us to improve the facility we ask if you are enjoying the product to take a little to maybe make a donation via the PayPal button to the left. We would like to say a big thank you to all of you who have already contributed.

Although the main remit of the Masonic Art Exchange is to share the wealth of wonderful Masonic Art out in the world we have also increased our newsletter content to include articles of general Masonic Interest. please also note the slight change to our rules to faciliate the inclusion of copyrighted images on the web sites and in the newsletter. In the next issue we hope to include and events page and a letter page, we will keep you informed. We are ALWAYS looking for contributions if you have any please contact us at subs@masonic-ae.com

I would encourage you if you are not already a member of the Facebook group to join if you are not a 'Facebooker' please feel free to join our forum and we are now also on Twitter; so you have no excuse not to be a member which ever you join you will receive an email or alert through the account when an issue is published.

Like the group in Facebook, the newsletter and the forum this web site is in its infancy and I hope for it grow as we continue on this joint adventure.

I am hoping many of you will find the time to contribute to the newsletter in the future and once we have it running well the web site as well.

For now the site is a portal to the various ways of joining the group and also to accessing the newsletter but it will grow with your help.

Aims:

In a nutshell the aims of the group is to provide a central 'hub' for the coming together of people who wish to improve the graphical look of the many newsletters, leaflets, circulars and the such presented within the craft by providing a forum and communication point for each other to offer advice and support on a design basis. To make a request for help or just to say hello why not join either our Facebook group or the forum.

General Rules:

A group in which you can post your self created Masonic (and related) Art and Graphics for all to use.

The Rules:

POSTERS
1. The work MUST be yours (if you post someone else’s work as yours you will be asked to remove it and may have it removed if the admin feels it is necessary) the work remains yours.
2.a. If you post you must be prepared for others to use the artwork.
2.b. Images individually marked with a copyright notice can be exempt from this however this is not a group just to post huge amounts of copyrighted images and should be limited to images that will be of particular interest to the group members )

USERS
1. If you use someone’s work you MUST inform them where it is being used.
2. CREDIT them
3. If required provide a copy of the publication i.e. Tresleboard it's being used in.
4. The work is to be used for non-profit publications etc unless agreed with the artist.
5. The MAE will do it's best to' police' the copyright of images however any issues of copyright usage is the responsibility of the 'image creator' and should be taken up with the ‘creator’ of the images in the first instance.

If you want to request artwork please leave a request in the discussion wall but bear in mind it then becomes 'public domain'

PUTTING/LINKING YOUR ARTWORK TO THIS GROUP CONSTITUTES THAT YOU AGREE TO THE ABOVE RULES

THE ARTWORK CAN NEITHER BE USED FOR NOR DEPICT ANYTHING CONSIDERED TO BE DEFLAMITARY TO FREEMASONRY OR SOCIETY IN GENERAL.

THE ADMINS DECISION IS FINAL IN ANY DISPUTE.

PLEASE CHECK BACK OFTEN FOR UPDATES.

The Masonic Art Exchange web site has recieved the following Award

the craft and the cross

The Craft and the Cross
examines the birth of sacred symbolism in preChristian times and traces its development and survival into the modern world. The book takes as a starting point an examination of the present day rituals and symbols of Freemasonry, where a radical new interpretation of that symbolism uncovers many allegorical references to the sun and the rhythm of the seasons lying forgotten within.
